The present study investigates the production cross-sections of characteristic L-series X-rays, namely Lα, Lβ and Lγ, produced following photoionization of L-shell electrons by monochromatic synchrotron radiation. Measurements are proposed/performed for selected medium- and high-Z elements using an energy-tunable synchrotron X-ray beam. The incident photon energy is varied across the L-shell ionization thresholds while the emitted characteristic X-rays are recorded using an energy-dispersive semiconductor detector.

Research on risky decision-making has proven time and time again that framing outcomes as wins or losses changes how people perceive them. This paper uses the prospect theory of Kahneman and Tversky to address a policy issue that is currently relevant in India: why are so many taxpayers in Delhi hesitant to switch from the old income-tax system, which had many deductions and exemptions, to the new system, which has lower slab rates but no deductions at all? A significant portion of Delhi taxpayers, especially those involved with home loans, HRA claims, or Section 80C investment habits, are hesitant to switch, even though the new regime would reduce their liability when compared rupee for rupee, even though the new regime has been the statutory default since Assessment Year 2024-25 and most filers have already migrated, according to national statistics.

The assessment of lacosamide in solid oral dosage forms was conducted using a quantitative ¹H nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR) method. Maleic acid was used as a certified internal reference in DMSO-d₆. The quantification was done by comparing the lacosamide methyl signal at δ 1.80 (3H) with the maleic acid signal at δ 6.30 (2H).
